Timing and Logistics: The excursions will start in the evening of August 15th from Kandalaksha. Participants should arrive at the airport of Murmansk from which they will be taken to Kandalaksha by bus (4 hours). Following routes to Murmansk can be considered. (A) Flight to Murmansk through St. Petersburg or Moscow (most preferable, daily flights); (B) flight from Oslo to Murmansk through Tromsø (flights four times a week). (C) Alternative direct flight from Moscow or St. Petersburg to Apatity (flights twice a week). Departure to Oslo on 24 August: (A) from Murmansk through St. Petersburg (flights daily); (B) from Murmansk through Tromsø.
Accommodation, Transport and Meals: Geological objects are dispersed along the road between Saint Petersburg-Murmansk over 400 km across the entire Kola Region, and three accommodation places are planned. All the field trips will start and finish in hotels situated in Kandalaksha (in the south), Apatity and Murmansk (in the north). Blocks of single and double rooms will be reserved for participants, no additional arrangements are needed. A comfortable bus with a professional driver is planned for trips. Two exceptions are trips to the Mesoarchaean Central Belomorian greenstone belt (a local train) and the Neoarchaean Pecha Guba iron ore deposit (a 20-seat off-road bus-like truck with an experienced driver). Breakfast and dinner are usually associated with overnight accommodation. Ready-to-eat lunches are planned to be at nice outcrops.
Guide-book: The guide-book will be prepared in a standard Congress format. It will be available with all others on a CD and printed in the necessary number for the actual excursion.

No of participants: The number of participants in the excursion is limited to 20 because of the seating capacity of the off-road bus used. Minimum number of participants is 12.
